Additional Information:
The Board of Management of Dominican College, Galway, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide targeted support, ensuring that all students, particularly those with additional learning needs, reach their full potential.

This contract is for a minimum of 14 hours per week (additional hours may be added, along with substitution hours), to commence as soon as possible and continue until the end of the 2024/25 academic year.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide in-class and small-group support to students across various subjects.
• Collaborate with subject teachers to differentiate lessons and assessments.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
• Communicate regularly with parents and other stakeholders regarding student progress.

Qualifications and Skills:
• A relevant teaching qualification as per Teaching Council regulation of the day. An SEN and/or EAL qualification is desirable but not essential.
• A strong understanding of inclusive education and differentiated teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Experience working in a learning support role is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with students.
• A professional approach and the ability to work co-operatively and effectively with colleagues to develop professional relationships.
• The desire to continually improve his/her professional knowledge and practice.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• To be actively engaged members of his/her profession and the wider community.
