Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The bus escort will accompany and support pupils with Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties on bus transport from their home to and from school. The bus escort must be available mornings and afternoons five days per week for the duration of the school year.
The bus escort is responsible for the safety of the children on the bus and will be required to provide pupil care needs including, but not limited to, assisting the children getting on and off the bus, securing appropriate seatbelts etc.
No official qualifications are required, however good communication skills and experience of caring for/working with children with additional needs is desirable. The post is 7.5hrs per week. The bus escort should be available from 8am to 8 45am and from 2 15pm to 3pm every school day.
Appointment is subject to Garda Vetting, Occupational Health Check and verification of references.
