St Joseph’s Special School caters for pupils with a moderate general learning disability. Approximately 85% of our pupils have ASD or multiple disabilities.
We have a vacancy for
2 permanent teaching posts
& 2 specific purpose, temporary posts.
There are 14 class teachers currently working at St Joseph’s School along with 33 SNAs and other support staff.
Essential Criteria:
1.. Experience working with pupils with a moderated ID, special needs, ASD, physical, sensory, and complex difficulties in a special educational setting.
2.. Experience working with pupils who can present with behaviours that challenge
3.. Experience working with a team of SNAs
Please give specific detail of your experience of these essential criteria in your letter of application.
Experience in the following is desirable and will be used to help shortlisting candidates for interview:
• Planning and implementing programs linked with teaching and learning, behaviour management, personal hygiene, toileting, hoisting, physiotherapy, speech and language, OT, aquatics.
• Experience with the Aistear and /Or Junior Cycle Curriculums
• Experience in the use of IT for special education, ACC devices and the use of apps to support teacing
- Working with MDT to support pupils
- Involvement with preparing IEPs or PPPs
- LÁMH sign language.
