As Scoil Mhichil is a Catholic school, applicants for this position must have a certificate to teach Religious Education.

In addition, the following skills experience and knowledge are desirable:
• A clear understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic School.
• Previous teaching experience across all classes in a multi-grade school
• Evidence of continuing and relevant professional development especially in the area of leadership
• Evidential experience of managing people (in any setting)
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team with particular regard to Droichead
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in prioritising, planning and organising workload
• Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school-based initiatives
• Previous experience in policy formulation and implementation
• A high level of understanding/knowledge of Special Education Needs and of inclusion in education
